Government Technology
Your departments depend on specialized government applications. Mayer Networks works directly with the vendors behind those systems to coordinate infrastructure, secure access, software upgrades and technical troubleshooting, while helping protect the government network around them.
Government technology rarely comes from one company.
A county may have separate vendors for property tax, assessment, elections, accounting, public safety, records management, prosecution, court systems and other departmental applications.
When those applications interact with servers, databases, networking, cybersecurity or other infrastructure, determining where one vendor's responsibility ends and another begins can become difficult.
Mayer Networks works directly with government software vendors to help coordinate the technical environment their applications depend on.
The objective is not to replace the software vendor. The software vendor remains the expert on its application. Mayer Networks manages and supports the infrastructure surrounding it.
Where we sit
Government department
Runs the application to deliver a public service.
Mayer Networks
Manages servers, SQL, networking, endpoints, security, backup and vendor access, and coordinates the technical work between both sides.
Specialized software vendor
Owns and supports its own application, independently of Mayer Networks.
Specialized applications carry infrastructure requirements. We handle those requirements with the vendor so the work happens once, correctly, and inside a maintenance window the department agreed to.
Third-Party Access
Specialized software vendors frequently need remote access to government systems for maintenance, troubleshooting and application upgrades.
Mayer Networks helps government organizations provide controlled access to the systems vendors need while reducing unnecessary exposure to the rest of the network. Access is designed around least privilege and the requirements of the specific environment rather than a fixed checklist applied everywhere.
In restricted public-safety environments, technical access may require more than a username and password. Some agencies require personnel screening, authorization or additional controls before Mayer Networks staff or third-party vendors are permitted to access sensitive systems. Mayer Networks helps coordinate those requirements as part of the broader access and support process.

A government application upgrade frequently requires much more than installing a new version of software.
Mayer Networks can work with the application vendor to identify and address infrastructure requirements before, during and after an upgrade.
The software vendor supports its application. Mayer Networks supports the technology environment required to run it.
Government applications rarely operate in isolation. A server, SQL, firewall, identity or network change made for one vendor can affect other systems that depend on the same infrastructure. Mayer Networks helps manage those dependencies and coordinate the vendors involved.
Mayer Networks has worked within government technology environments involving specialized applications from a wide range of vendors. Our role may include infrastructure support, networking, server administration, secure vendor access, application upgrade coordination, troubleshooting or other technical services surrounding the vendor's application.

State of Illinois
Some government technology depends not only on commercial software vendors, but also on State of Illinois infrastructure, connectivity and cybersecurity organizations.
Mayer Networks helps government clients navigate those dependencies by coordinating with state-level technology resources when necessary.
Network and connectivity coordination supporting public-sector environments.
Technical coordination involving State of Illinois infrastructure, systems and requirements.
Cybersecurity coordination involving local election environments.
References to State of Illinois organizations describe coordination and technical work on behalf of government clients. They do not imply partnership, endorsement, certification or preferred-vendor status.
Complex government environments often involve multiple technology providers.
Mayer Networks can work directly with the vendors involved to help isolate where the problem exists and coordinate the technical work required to resolve it. Government employees should not have to act as the technical referee between vendors.
Recovery scenarios work the same way. See Government Backup & Recovery for how application dependencies factor into restoring service.
No. The software vendor remains the expert on its own application. Mayer Networks manages and supports the infrastructure that application depends on: servers, SQL, networking, workstations, security, backup and the access the vendor needs to do its work.
Yes. We can work directly with the vendor's support or implementation staff on server, database, network, firewall and workstation requirements so a government employee is not relaying technical details between companies.
Access is designed around the specific environment and the systems the vendor actually needs. Depending on the environment that may involve vendor-specific accounts, MFA, restricted access to particular servers, firewall or VPN configuration, logging and removal of access when it is no longer needed. Controls are not identical for every organization.
Yes. Upgrades frequently require infrastructure work first: a newer SQL version, a new virtual server, additional storage, firewall changes or workstation prerequisites. We identify those requirements with the vendor and schedule the work around the department's operating hours.
It is part of how we support government IT environments rather than a separate product category. Scope depends on the agreement in place with the organization.

Whether a software vendor needs secure server access, an application requires a SQL upgrade, an update affects shared infrastructure, or several vendors are troubleshooting the same problem, Mayer Networks can help coordinate the technology behind the scenes.
