Mayer Networks operates its own datacenter in Carbondale, Illinois, and hosts private-cloud infrastructure there for businesses and government organizations. It is infrastructure we own, operate and support, not a public cloud platform resold under our name.

Infrastructure we own, in a building we can walk into
The datacenter is in Carbondale, Illinois, and it belongs to Mayer Networks. That is an operational statement rather than a marketing one: when a host needs firmware, when a disk fails, when a customer needs a snapshot restored before a filing deadline, the people making that decision are the people who support the organization asking. There is no platform vendor between the request and the hardware.
For a regional organization, the practical effect is a short network path and a short escalation path. Traffic between a Southern Illinois office and a Carbondale host does not traverse the country, which matters for hosted desktops and for chatty line-of-business applications that were written long before anyone considered latency. And when something needs a human decision, that human is in the same time zone and often the same county.
Mayer Networks has operated hosted infrastructure for more than a decade and maintains redundant datacenter capability used for hosting and disaster recovery, so recovery does not depend on the site that failed.
The private cloud is the platform, not a separate product
Mayer Networks Private Cloud is the infrastructure our hosted services run on. Clients do not choose it as a standalone product; they buy Infrastructure as a Service, and this is what it runs on. Where is the datacenter?
Mayer Networks' primary datacenter is in Carbondale, Illinois, with redundant datacenter capability used as part of the hosted infrastructure and disaster recovery architecture.
Is your datacenter a Microsoft datacenter?
No. Mayer Networks owns and operates the infrastructure. We participate in Microsoft's Services Provider License Agreement program for eligible hosted Microsoft workloads; Microsoft does not own, operate or certify the facility.
Can we tour the facility?
Facility access is limited for security reasons. Prospective clients can discuss capabilities in detail with our engineers.
What happens during a regional power outage?
The facility operates on protected, generator-backed power. Specific configuration details are not published.
Can hosted systems connect to our office network?
Yes, through secure site connectivity designed as part of the hosting architecture.
