Services
What Mayer Networks Does
Managed IT, cybersecurity, private-cloud infrastructure, Microsoft cloud services, government technology and business communications, delivered by one organization based in Carbondale, Illinois.
Managed IT
- Managed IT ServicesMayer Networks provides ongoing managed IT services for businesses, government agencies, nonprofits, healthcare organizations and other organizations throughout Southern Illinois. Our managed IT model provides proactive technology management, 24/7/365 support, monitoring, cybersecurity, infrastructure management, Microsoft 365 administration, backup, vendor coordination, documentation, lifecycle planning and strategic guidance. There are two ways to work with Mayer Networks: Fully Managed IT or Co-Managed IT.
- Fully Managed ITFully managed IT means Mayer Networks becomes your IT department: user support, systems administration, network and server management, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, backup oversight, vendor coordination, hardware lifecycle and long-term planning, with support available 24/7/365. We do not wait for something to break and send another hourly bill. We are paid to operate the environment as an ongoing managed relationship at a predictable monthly cost.
- Co-Managed ITCo-managed IT places Mayer Networks alongside your internal IT staff rather than replacing them. Your team keeps ownership of the systems, users, applications and priorities it knows best, and we add engineers, deeper specialization, cybersecurity capability, infrastructure expertise, our ticketing and remote monitoring platforms, escalation support, project capacity and 24/7/365 coverage behind them.
- IT Consulting & StrategyMayer Networks helps leadership decide what to replace, what to keep, what is actually at risk, what belongs in cloud and what should be budgeted next year. We assess the environment, document what it runs on, and build a realistic multi-year plan for infrastructure, security and applications, with the reasoning written down so it survives a budget meeting.
- IT Procurement & Hardware LifecycleMayer Networks helps organizations select, procure, configure, deploy, track and replace technology across its full lifecycle, so leadership knows what needs to be replaced, when it needs to happen and roughly what it is likely to cost before the equipment forces the decision.
- Network InfrastructureMayer Networks designs, deploys and manages the wired and wireless networks organizations depend on: switching, routing, firewalls, segmentation, remote access and connectivity between locations.
- Business Wi-FiMayer Networks designs and manages business wireless networks, from site survey and access point placement through guest access, segmentation and ongoing management.
- Backup & Data ProtectionMayer Networks protects critical business and government systems with managed backup, protected offsite copies, restore testing, and disaster-recovery options designed around how quickly the organization needs to recover. For organizations that cannot tolerate extended downtime, we can go beyond backup and design replication and failover so critical workloads stay available even when production infrastructure is not.
Cybersecurity
- Cybersecurity ServicesA firewall protects one front. Attacks arrive through endpoints, email, Microsoft 365, identities, credentials, remote access and people. Mayer Networks designs and operates a layered security standard across identify, protect, detect, respond and recover, including the recovery capability that decides the outcome once prevention has already failed.
- Endpoint SecurityEndpoint security protects the computers and servers where most compromises begin. Mayer Networks deploys and manages endpoint protection and EDR so malicious behavior is blocked, recorded and investigated.
- MDR & Security MonitoringManaged detection and response combines security tooling with people who investigate what it finds. Mayer Networks monitors endpoint, identity and log activity so suspicious behavior is examined quickly and confirmed threats are contained.
- Email SecurityEmail remains the most common entry point for attacks. Mayer Networks layers filtering, domain authentication, identity protection, encryption and user training to reduce phishing and business email compromise.
- MFA & Identity ProtectionIdentity is the modern perimeter. Mayer Networks implements multi-factor authentication, conditional access, privileged account separation and identity monitoring so a stolen password is not enough to enter your systems.
- Vulnerability ManagementVulnerability management is the ongoing work of finding known weaknesses in systems, prioritizing them by real risk and closing them through patching or configuration change.
- Incident ResponseWhen something goes wrong, response is about sequence: contain the damage, understand what happened, coordinate the right parties and restore operations from protected backups.
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Cloud & InfrastructureMayer Networks uses two kinds of cloud together. Microsoft 365 carries email, files, collaboration and identity. Mayer Networks Cloud, our own private infrastructure in Carbondale, Illinois, carries the workloads that still require traditional servers: line-of-business applications, SQL databases, hosted desktops, legacy software and disaster recovery. Infrastructure as a Service is the service; the private cloud is the platform it runs on.
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)Many organizations have already moved email, collaboration and files into modern cloud services, and still depend on applications that require Windows Server, SQL Server, Remote Desktop or traditional infrastructure. Mayer Networks provides managed private infrastructure in Carbondale so those systems keep running without the organization purchasing and maintaining another generation of physical server hardware.
- Private Cloud HostingMayer Networks operates its own datacenter in Carbondale, Illinois, and hosts private-cloud infrastructure there for businesses and government organizations. It is infrastructure we own, operate and support, not a public cloud platform resold under our name.
- Virtual Server HostingVirtual server hosting places your file, application, database or domain servers on Mayer Networks' enterprise virtualization platform, with storage, backup, monitoring and support included.
- Legacy Application HostingMany organizations depend on software that cannot move to SaaS right now. Mayer Networks can host appropriate legacy applications in its private cloud so you can retire aging physical servers while you plan application modernization properly.
- Virtual Desktop HostingVirtual desktop hosting delivers a full Windows desktop or published application from Mayer Networks' private cloud, so staff get the same secure workspace whether they are in the office, at another site or working remotely.
- Disaster Recovery & FailoverBackup answers whether the data can be recovered. Disaster recovery answers how the organization keeps operating when production is unavailable. Mayer Networks' Carbondale infrastructure can serve as a disaster-recovery and failover destination for customer workloads that require replicated recovery capability.
- Microsoft 365Mayer Networks helps organizations across Southern Illinois deploy, administer, secure, support and continuously manage Microsoft 365. That includes email, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, licensing, identity, security, migrations, governance and day-to-day support for the users who depend on it.
- Microsoft 365 BackupMicrosoft operates the Microsoft 365 platform, but service availability is not the same thing as having an independent backup and recovery strategy. Mayer Networks protects supported Microsoft 365 data with independent backup, long-term retention, ongoing monitoring and restoration assistance, so organizations have another recovery path when email, files or SharePoint content are deleted, corrupted or intentionally removed.
- SharePointMayer Networks helps organizations structure SharePoint for document management, intranets, collaboration, permissions, search, departmental organization and long-term information governance. We do not simply move files into Microsoft 365. We help design how the information should live there.
Government
- Government IT ServicesMayer Networks supports public-sector organizations of every size in this region: municipalities, county offices, courts, circuit clerks, sheriff's departments, election authorities and public safety agencies. That work is managed IT built around security, availability, documentation and continuity of public services.
- Government CybersecurityPublic-sector organizations are targeted because they hold sensitive data and must keep operating. Mayer Networks applies the identify-protect-detect-respond-recover lifecycle to government environments, with the documentation and coordination public bodies require.
- CJIS-Focused SecurityAgencies handling criminal justice information operate under the CJIS Security Policy. Mayer Networks supports those agencies by implementing and documenting technical controls, identity, access, encryption, logging, physical and network separation, in coordination with the agency and its state CJIS contacts.
- Government Backup & RecoveryPublic bodies must be able to restore records and resume public services after a failure or attack. Mayer Networks provides offsite backup, protected recovery copies where the platform supports them, and where an agency's agreement includes it, replication to our Carbondale infrastructure for recovery and failover.
- Election Technology SupportElection authorities operate under intense scrutiny, tight deadlines and specific security expectations. Mayer Networks supports the technology environment around election administration, networks, endpoints, identity, backup and coordination with state election cybersecurity personnel.
- Government VoIPPublic offices need phone systems that route the public to the right department, work across multiple buildings, and stay available. Mayer Networks deploys and supports VoIP platforms for government organizations, including 3CX and Yeastar where applicable.
- Government Agency CoordinationLocal governments routinely work with state agencies, federal cybersecurity organizations, election authorities, software vendors, insurance carriers, auditors, telecommunications providers and other outside partners. Mayer Networks helps government clients understand the technical requirements, determine what actually has to change, coordinate the appropriate vendors and agencies, and implement those requirements inside the client's environment. Government should not have to figure out the technical side alone.
Communications
- Business VoIPMayer Networks provides the complete business phone system as a managed service: the calling, the phones, the hosting, the licensing, the design, the installation, the training and the ongoing support, from one local company on one monthly invoice. We design the system around how your organization actually answers the phone, we manage the network the calls depend on, and you choose between the two platforms we support, 3CX and Yeastar.
- 3CX Phone Systems3CX is one of the two communications platforms available inside the Mayer Networks hosted business VoIP service. The system is hosted in our Carbondale private cloud, designed, configured, deployed, administered and supported by us, with the phones, licensing, number porting, call flows, training and network troubleshooting included. You are buying a complete phone service from Mayer Networks; 3CX is the platform it runs on.
- Yeastar Phone SystemsYeastar is one of the two communications platforms available inside the Mayer Networks hosted business VoIP service, and the one we reach for when a building depends on a mix of IP and analog devices. The system is hosted, designed, configured, deployed, administered and supported by Mayer Networks, with phones, licensing, number porting, call flows, training and network troubleshooting included. You are buying a complete phone service from us; Yeastar is the platform it runs on.
- Unified CommunicationsMost organizations did not choose to keep their phone system, chat, meetings and voicemail in four unrelated places; it happened one purchase at a time. Unified communications puts calling, chat, presence, video and mobility into one environment so staff can reach each other in one step, and Mayer Networks designs, deploys and supports it alongside the network it runs on.
- Business Phone System FeaturesNobody buys a phone system because they want a feature list. They buy one because important calls are being missed, callers are being passed around, or changing an after-hours greeting requires a vendor visit. This page explains what each capability does in plain language, when an organization actually needs it, and what depends on the platform selected.
- Mobile & Remote CallingStaff who are rarely at a desk should not have to hand out a personal cell number and hope callers can be transferred later. Supported platforms extend the business phone system to mobile devices, laptops and browsers, so employees place and receive company calls with the business caller ID, stay reachable by extension and remain full members of the phone system wherever they work.
- Call Routing & Auto AttendantsBad routing is expensive in a way nobody itemizes, because callers who give up do not send a report explaining why. Mayer Networks designs main-number routing, departmental menus, hours-based behavior and overflow paths with the staff who answer the phones, then configures and dials every path before cutover so no call ends in silence.
- Call Queues & Contact CenterAnywhere more than one person answers the same kind of call, callers start getting dropped into voicemail during the busy hour and nobody finds out how many gave up. Queues hold callers in order, tell them where they stand, distribute calls fairly, and give supervisors real numbers on volume, wait time and abandons.
- Multi-Location Phone SystemsAn organization with four buildings should not be paying for four phone systems, four support arrangements and four bills. One communications platform gives every site a shared extension plan, transfers between buildings, shared reception coverage and centralized administration, while each location keeps its own published numbers, call flow and registered emergency address.
- Conferencing & CollaborationMost organizations accumulated their meeting tools rather than choosing them, and now every invitation looks different and someone spends the first four minutes of each meeting helping a participant get in. Where the communications platform includes meetings, audio conferencing, video, screen sharing and browser join can come from the same environment as the phones. Capabilities differ by platform, so we scope it rather than assume it.
Branding
- Website Design & MarketingMayer Networks builds and maintains websites for regional organizations, including hosting, ongoing care, domain management, design work and search visibility, with security and accessibility treated as requirements rather than extras.
- BrandingBranding is a service division of Mayer Networks covering how an organization presents itself: brand development and logo design, graphic and print design, website design, search visibility, and the domain, hosting and care plans that keep the site working afterwards.
- Logo & Brand IdentityIdentity work produces the logo, type, color and usage rules an organization needs so its name looks the same on a sign, a truck door, a form and a website, and so it still reproduces correctly in ten years.
- Website Hosting & CareMayer Networks hosts and maintains websites on infrastructure it owns and operates in Carbondale, Illinois, including platform updates, TLS certificates, backups and the DNS records the site and your email both depend on.
- Graphic Design SupportDesign support for organizations that need occasional print, signage and digital materials produced correctly and consistently, without hiring a designer for work that arrives a few times a year.
